Shots Fired

Today I started the first round of treatment to kill the cancer. It was pretty straight forward. I go in, they give me a IV of some fluids then take some blood and test to make sure I am all good for the meds. Then I get a shot in the leg and off we go. Killing cancer. It’s only been an hour but so far I feel fine. Glad to take the offensive position.

I also start the pill drug tomorrow. Before getting the drug they call you and run down a list of “possible” side effects. This took, and I do not exaggerate 20 minutes to list. From what I hear from the nurses at the treatment center most people don’t have any issues. So it’s wait and see I guess.

My back is much improved over the last week of rest. I am not getting any spasms any more. Getting more mobile everyday. Still go the back brace and going to see the ortho people at the end of the week to get a game plan to heal up there.

So what’s next? For now take the 3 week cycle of drugs and see how they hit me and the cancer. In the meantime rest of and build up my back. Thank you to everyone who sent notes, letters ect.
